In a quick move – and showing a direct confrontation with the Norwegian Air Shuttle (announcement posted early in this blog) – Transavia Airlines has announced that, starting at 10th December, they will serve the Copenhagen and Faro cities with biweekly flights.
The Transavia schedule:
- Faro-Copenhagen: Wed. 10:25 departure, 15:20 arrival
- Faro-Copenhagen: Sat. 10:35 departure, 15:30 arrival
- Copenhagen-Faro: Wed. 07:10 departure, 09:55 arrival
- Copenhagen-Faro: Sat. 07:00 departure, 09:45 arrival

Thomson has confirmed that all operations from Coventry Airport will terminate this winter. This affects the routeĀ Coventry (CVT) to Faro (FAO) route.

Aer Lingus has announced that they will start flying next year from London/Gatwick (LGW) to Faro (FAO). This will be a summer route, starting at 26th April to 24th October and will be a twice a day service:
From Faro to Gatwick:
- Departs 09:25. Arrives 12:10.
- Departs 20:45. Arrives 23:30.
From Gatwick to Faro:
- Departs 05:50. Arrives 08:45
- Departs 17:20. Arrives 20:05.

After Sterling’s bankruptcy, the Norwegian Air Shuttle has announced it will start one new route fromĀ Copenhagen (CPH) to/from Faro (FAO) for the coming summer.
The new route to Faro (FAO) takes off on April 4 and will operate every Saturdays:
- From Algarve-Faro – Copenhagen: departs 17:40, arrives 22:50
- From Copenhagen – Algarve-Faro: departs 13:40, arrives 16:50
